16-year-old Kohinoor Khatun from the Munsiganj red-light-area was forced by her

family to drop out of school, stop attending DIKSHA’s Drop-in-Centre-based

activities, and start working as domestic labour. She is back with a bang both in school and at DIKSHA, and this is what she has to

say:

“I could continue negotiating with my parents without fighting because of the skills I’ve

learnt at DIKSHA. And, Saptami-di never gave up either. She also continued interacting

with my parents so that I could return to school and DIKSHA. Finally, I am back to

school, and to DIKSHA – the space I love most!”

Kohinoor says that DIKSHA is enabling her to be a leader who can help many other

Kohinoors, just like her Saptami-di helped her.
